New Hair and Outfit of the Day

Hi Pretties,

Last weekend I got my hair snipped a little bit, I adore having long, big hair, but about a year ago I ombre'd it, and basically you can't get ombre out of your hair unless you cut it out, that's the just of it, so my ends always end up fading quicker, and it tends to look brassy and just very unhealthy, so I had to have a good portion cut off to give me that bounce and vibrance again.  I dyed it a lovely chocolate brown, had loads of layers cut in to help with teasing my hair, and then had a little fringe/bang cut, it's the perfect length because I can still sweep it to the side, or have a bit more on my forehead or pin it back completely.

Skirt:  Jet
Blue Top:  Focshini
Faux Snakeskin Belt:  Foschini
Cross Necklace:  Mr Price
Flower Ring:  Sass Diva

Our weather has been a bit iffy lately, it's not yet the time for season changes, but still, it makes it quite hard to know how to dress, so I love this chiffon lined maxi skirt, you can wear it so many ways, I love it on my hips with tops like these, but it's long enough for me to pull up to my waist and wear it as a high-waisted skirt ... just one of the few advantages of being short ;)

I hope you like my new hair!!!

Review: African Extracts Rooibox Anti Ageing Eye-Cream

Hi my Loves,

I hope you all had an amazing week?

Last night and this morning it's been raining in Joburg, and I'm in heaven.  Yeah I know that my beauties from the cold and rainy regions of the world might wonder about my sanity LoL, but I assure you I'm perfectly fine, I just adore rainy days, maybe they remind me of my days as an expat in the UK ;)

Anyway ~ I've never tried any products from African Extracts Rooibos skincare line, and the other day I was browsing around in Clicks, and this little beauty caught my eye.  If you're also in your 30's, you'll know that suddenly you have little lines appearing, and mine is mostly based on my forehead and under eye area, so I am always looking for a miracle cream, I also suffer from a bout of dark circles which I know is not sleep related, so I couldn't wait to try this one out:

African Extracts Rooibos Anti-Ageing Regenerating Triple-Action Eye Cream (what a mouthful LoL) ~ Clicks, I can't remember the exact price but was definitely under R100

Claims to be:

*  Anti-Wrinkle
*  Anti-Shadow
*  Anti-Puffiness

Let me start off by mentioning the most important ingredient in this product which is the Rooibos herb extracts, if you don't know anything about Rooibos I'll give you a little snippet:  It's South-Africa's best kept secret (thus far LoL), mainly used to make teas, it comes in little tea bags as normal teas does, is considered a herbal tea but very rich in anti-oxidants and also caffeine free, so if you need to up your intake of water, I highly suggest drinking rooibos tea, it's also an amazing tea to have with a bit of honey especially if you feel a bit flu-ish with a sore throat.

I love the little bottle, it's so chic and pretty.  The eye cream has a really nice consistency with a thick enough formula that feels more "body butter" like than runny.  You only need a dab on your ring finger for each eye {when you work around your eye area, be very careful not to tug or pull on the skin, as it's very thin and sensitive}, the first few nights I used this I experienced a slight burning sensation ~ I know you're thinking oohhh that sounds bad.  But honestly, it wasn't a hot burning sensation but felt more like an "active ingredient" feel, as if the product is actually working, it only lasted a few seconds though so I persisted with the product to see if it was an allergic reaction or not.  And glad to report it wasn't!  I'm not sure why it happened, but I've been using this for about 2 weeks now and not experiencing it anymore.

Anti-ageing products is something one needs to use for a relatively long time and with persistence to see results, so I can't comment on that yet, but my eyes feel very moisturised, it absorbs within a minute or two which also makes it a good product to use in the mornings, I am happy to say that I have noticed a difference in my under eye-circles.  They've not vanished completely, but they're definitely at least a shade or two lighter (hoorrayy).

Best bit of all?!  They're cruelty FREE!

I'm so happy that I tried out this nifty little beaut and now I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of them :-)

Have a beautiful Saturday my lovelies!

New In: Fall Fashion Haul {Mr Price & Sass Diva}

Hi my Lovelies,

I hope you've all had an amazing week, and that your weekend is filled with fabulousness and smiles!

The other day, I honestly can't remember how it happened *wink-wink* my browser ended up on the Mr Price online store, check them out here, and I stocked up on a few amazing pieces for fall, I love how they regularly collaborate with different designers that makes designer items accessible to the regular Joe's (or Janes if you please LoL).

Am I the only one looking forward to autumn/fall?
Amber Jones for Mr Price:  R119.00

I adore all the colours and the kind of grunge flower print on this peplum top, I also love the length of the top, the back actually covers a good portion of my bum, which is really flattering.  This is the perfect transition top between summer to fall and then winter.
Amber Jones for Mr Price:  R69.99

"A woman is many things at once".
The bold flower print takes what could be just a plain high-low top from drab to fab.  This is honestly such a steal, and remember you can dress up t-shirts, pair them with cute pleather skirts and bold accessories and voila, you're good to go.
Mr Price:  R79.99

A gorgeous and soft flowy little number, perfect for my fellow curvy gals, shirts like these are a must for fall/winter, they can easily be layered for more warmth or sleeves rolled up if too hot.  They look great with blazers, biker jackets or for a more demure look an awesome knitted jumper.  And how on trend is the gold spike detailing, love it.
Mr Price:  R59.99

If there is one kind of scarf you invest in for the colder months, let it be a snood.  What is that you may ask pretties, it's basically a scarf with no end (or beginning for that matter).  I adore the gold detailing, nothing says glam more than black and gold, and they go with everything.  This little number is so soft I can't wait to snuggle up to it ;)
Mr Price:  R179.00

I'm in love with these little booties, I adore the mix of the different textures, and the heel is high enough to give me length but short enough so I'm able to walk in them, I love wearing ankle boots with skinny jeans, leggings/disco pants and dresses and skirts.  A preppy outfit can be transformed into more of an edgy look with heels like these.
Mr Price:  R29.99

This is one of my favourite pieces, crosses isn't just a fashion symbol to me, but has deeper religious meaning to me, when I saw these I thought they're just so beautiful.  It's two separate gold chains with one small and one bigger cross, they're quite long and can be worn with other chains, but I love long chains like these, and this one definitely gets top marks from me.
Mr Price (Sorry I don't have the price the tag got lost somewhere)

This looks quite heavy, but is made from a plastic type of material.  It's so beautiful though with the ombre black and silver, it's a definite statement necklace.
Sass Diva:  R85.00

How absolutely adorable is this little angel pendant?  It's a short gold necklace, the detailing on the angel is spectacular.  It's so girly and feminine ~ it just screams prettyness!
Mr Price:  Both pairs are R29.99 Each

I can't wait to wear both of these, they're so pretty and I love how you can easily wear either gold or silver with either of these.
Sass Diva (They don't have rand pricing on them but I think they were R40.00 each)

Such dainty little rings, I love stacking rings, and lately been into wearing several rings at ones on different fingers, and also wearing rings at the top part of my fingers {does that even make sense hehe}, so I buy small ones which fits perfectly.  Rings are just an easy way of updating or changing an outfit.

Have you bought anything recently?  I hope you like the goodies I picked up :-)

New In: Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi my Beauties,

As you may know if you've been reading my blog for some time, I am completely and utterly a hair person.  I could be wearing the most fabulous outfit with the most amazing make-up, but if my hair does not look the way I want it to be, I'll have such a bad day.  My hair literally determines my mood for the day LoL ;)

My hair is in desperate need of a trim and colour, and I'm counting down the days to Saturday for my hair appointment so I can put some bounce and shine back into them.  About a year ago I succumed to the ombre trend, my hair was only shoulder length, it looked great but I quickly grew tired of it.  I generally have really healthy hair, but when I ombre'd it-it really took a lot out of my hair, and a year later my ends still fades quicker after I've dyed it.  So needless to say, I got really happy when I saw the new range from Lee Stafford at Clicks, and couldn't wait to give it a try:

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner ~ R95.00 (Clicks) 200ml each:

With Pro-Growth complex for strength from within ... A protein based complex to fertilize your follicles, creating a healthy environment on the scalp to help hair grow faster and reach its maximum potential length.

Yes please, fertilize my hair!  Hahaaa ... how funny is that, but on a serious note, hair is made from protein so it's always a really good ingredient to look for in hair products, and I specifically used the Kardashians on my pics because they are known for their long and lovely locks.  Rest assure, I'm well aware they make use of extensions, but even so, most of us would love to have natural long hair like them right?  It's far too early to give you my verdict on these two new beauties I purchased, generally my hair grows fast anyway, but I want to see if this actually helps it to grow even faster, and does it help with volume and the general condition of my hair.

I absolutely adore his products and have tried out most of them in the range, firstly, look at the packaging, it's PINK!  I mean come on, walking down the aisle these beauties are bound to catch your eye, and rest assure, as attention grabbing as the products themselves are, when you use them your hair will get the same reaction.

I've used these products twice, and my hair feels really soft and smells amazing.  When you pop the lid open this beautiful buttery sweetness hits your nose, and that same fragrance will cling to your hair.

He also brought out a new argan oil product, which I can't wait to get my hands on next month.  His products is a bit more expensive than the usual drugstore ones, but well worth the investment, especially if your philosophy about your hair is the same as mine.  And in the words of the lovely man who created these products:

"Have fun, look wicked, smell BEAutiful"!
