Three Year Wedding Anniversary

Hi my lovelies,

A lot of things happened in 2010, not only was it the Soccer World Cup in South-Africa, but my hubby and I also tied the knot on 30 January 2010.  So on Wednesday we'll be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary.  How exciting!  I feel incredibly blessed to celebrate each year of marriage.

You might ask if I have any words of wisdom or advice?  Really the only thing I can tell you, is marriage is the most amazing and yet most challenging thing in life.  It's incredible, loving and at times heart breaking.  In Shall we Dance Susanne Sarandon's character said it so nicely, she said people get married so we have a witness to our life!

Make your hubby/wife your best friend and your number one, no other relationship with people should be more than important than this.  Make a choice to love each other everyday!  Be kind to everyone else but treat your other half the best.  Learn to be selfless, to say sorry when you haven't done anything, let the small things go, decide which things are worth the fight, but make sure the fight is worth it.  Just know that no marriage is perfect, but the people in it can make it beyond great!  I would not trade in my hubby for anything in the whole wide world, and I pray that we will be Blessed together till our dying day.

Here's a few snippets of our day ~ I hope you enjoy them and beware:  Photo Overload!

{Outfit of The Day} Come in with the Rain

Hi Pretties,

The past few weeks we've had a terrible heatwave in Joburg, and to say I breathed a sigh of relief on Friday when the weather forecast told me that we can expect a rainy weekend .. is an understatement!  I live for rainy weather, and I think I'm one of the few people who doesn't mind cloudy and over-cast days, don't get me wrong, of course I love a bit of sunshine too!

PS - If you wonder where my oh so cryptic post title is from, it's a song from Taylor Swift.  I am such a massive fan of hers and ever since I bought her CD Red, have been listening to it non-stop.  She is such an amazing artist, and I thought this title is just so fitting for this post.

I tied two scarves together to create different texture plus give it volume, both scarves are pretty, but they're "small" so tied together it creates a really lovely look.

Jeans:  Sissy Boy
Grey Top:  Cotton On
Grey Cropped Jacket:  Legit
Scarfs:  Mr Price
Shoes:  Mr Price
Bangles:  Mr Price
Eye Make-Up:  Urban Decay Naked 2

I am in love with these jeans, which I got for my birthday last year!  They're amazingly comfortable, I love the wash of the jeans and despite the ripped areas, this beauty will take you from day to night (and yes I've worn them to work with a smart top and cropped blazer), and in Sissy Boy fashion the pockets on my bum are embroided with gorgeous studs and diamante's.  If you've got a curvy bum/hips like me, Sissy Boy jeans are super flattering, although a bit more on the expensive side it is totally worth having a pair or two in your closet.  I just adored this outfit, the top from Cotton on has amazing stud detailing on the shoulders, and if you really wanted you could wear this with pumps or sandals, but as I'm only 5ft 2in I prefer high heels as I do have a tendency to look child-like wearing flats, and these shoes from Mr Price are so comfy, I've worn them to several shopping trips and my feet thanked me afterwards ;P

So we went to my parents for game night, and I have to say I am quite competitive when playing games especially 30 Seconds ... and not to boast or anything ;) but is it a co-incidence that I was on the winning team twice although I had a different team player both times?  LooL ... It truly was a fun night with lots of laughter and inside jokes, and I surely won't betray my brothers trust by telling you all how R-Rated one of his explanations were, leaving us all in fits of laughter and a story to tell for years to come.

Oh, before I forget to mention, you'll notice I took my extensions out, that was just after we got back from a short trip to the coast in December.  I removed them at home and my lovely husband helped me oh so patiently, it only took about an hour to remove, and I was totally chuffed to see that my hair had zero damage from the micro ring/link hair extensions!  In fact, after I washed and blow-dried it my hair felt super soft, so if you're interested in getting hair extensions I would definitely recommend you get these, and if you're wondering where I got them from have a little read here.

I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday!

Love,
xoxo

Printed Shoes take Center Stage

Hello Lovelies,

Since this is my first post in 2013 I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year!

I told you I'm not disappearing from the blogging scene forever ~ and I'm so excited to show you my outfit of the day!

When my parents spoilt me with an overseas holiday to London for my 30th birthday in 2011, I couldn't wait to visit all my favourite shopping spots, and of course a trip to Primark was on top of my list.  For those who don't know Primark and Mr Price are similar, and they actually stock some of the same goodies.

* My furrbabies in the back looking rather confused .. I guess they're taking
notes on how not to pose for your blog outfit posts LoL :P

Dress:  Primark (2011)
Tribal Print Shoes:  Mr Price R199.00 (I saw these just a few days ago on their website www.mrp.co.za)

This flowy and lady-like dress is just perfect and I got so many compliments the day I wore it, I kept accessories to a minimum as the dress and shoes have enough personality already ;) .  I am pear-shaped, and I'm sure you'll notice my not so shapely legs hehe, but high wedges and a gorgeous dress will accentuate you in all the right places.  We all have things we'd like to change, the trick is not to focus on those things but rather bring attention to the things we like, so although my bum and hips are the biggest part of my body, the gorgeous drape on the top immediately catches your attention, the belt slightly cinches in at the waist giving me an hourglass shape ~ and lastly focusing on these amazing and funky tribal wedges.

Girls, I'm warning you, these beauties truly will make your feet suffer, but beauty is pain and I will bear it with a smile. LoL.

Update - Cruelty Free Products

I also wanted to give you a little update on my new venture in buying only cruelty free products, I feel that I've learned so much the past month, and I'll definitely be doing a few posts on some finds and some not so great finds.  One of the biggest struggles I've had is finding a replacement for my foundation which is the MAC Studio Fluid in NW20, which unfortunately I've had to repurchase ~ if you invest in one cosmetic item make it your foundation, it sets the feel and look for the rest of your make-up and if your foundation is failing you then your look will be less than glam.  But after some more research I think I'm going to buy the Stila foundation, which is quite hefty at approx. R400 from selected Woolworths and Truworths stores, but I'm hoping it will last me longer than the MAC foundation and therefore balancing out cost-wise.

I hope you enjoyed my first outfit post of the year pretties?

If you're new to my blog and wondering why I don't post frequently, please read my blog philosophy.

Interesting read on animal testing.

Love,
xoxo
